Tracy Lawson is a professor in plant physiology in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Essex, UK. She received her PhD in Stomatal Heterogeneity from the University of Dundee. Tracy’s research interests focus on stomatal physiology and photosynthesis, and she is an expert in infrared gas analysis, plant imaging, chlorophyll fluorescence, and thermography. She is also interested in the development of bespoke tools for monitoring plants and recently developed combined spectral imaging tools to screen plants for changes in water use efficiency. TL has secured >£8M funding from NERC, BBSRC and EU, has >130 publications. She sits on the editorial board of Plant Physiology, Plant Journal, Journal of Experimental Botany, New Phytologist and Plant Direct. In 2020’s Tracy was ranked in the world’s highest cited list by Clarivate.
